Stephen Prince is a multi-millionaire who made his fortune as the CEO of National Business Products, a company that manufactures plastic gift cards for retailers across the country. Unlike most millionaires, however, he is calling to reform the tax code and make the wealthy pay their fair share. By taxing the rich, Prince believes we can provide Medicare for All, mandate a living wage for workers, and eradicate income inequality. Prince got brutally honest in this video for NowThis explaining that the rich are in charge — in Congress and in the White House — and they are acting in their own interest for their own benefit. Prince believes that raising the minimum wage will increase consumption and we're better off putting money into the hands of people who will spend it in the economy than those at the top who already have plenty of money. Prince also says that the wealthy people in charge do not car if the economy improves just if they're making more money.

Bill Gates calls Steve Jobs a 'wizard' who saved Apple Steve Jobs was a wizard who "cast spells on people" to help keep Apple afloat during the company's darkest days, according to longtime rival Bill Gates.
The Microsoft (MSFT) founder discussed his and Jobs' leadership styles with CNN's Fareed Zakaria Sunday. Both men are known for being tough leaders who foster an intense workplace culture.
Gates said people often emulate the negative elements of the Apple (AAPL) founder's personality, but Jobs was also a unique leader who took Apple from near-death to its pedestal as the most valuable company in the world (before Microsoft usurped that crown this year). Apple was on the verge of bankruptcy when Jobs rejoined the company in the late 1990s; it is now worth just shy of $1 trillion.

Despite this, the elites of pre-1945 managed to get hold of high-ranking positions in all areas of social life. Handa Center Visiting Scholar Christoph Safferling will present an extensive study on the establishment of the German Federal Ministry of Justice and its staff in the years 1949 to 1947. His study unveiled the enormous figure that 77% of those working in the Ministry in the late 1950s were former members of the National Socialist Party. This of course raises general questions of the development of the "rechtsstaat" (Rule of Law) in Germany and lessons learned for lustration processes in modern states in transition.

Dr. Christoph Safferling holds the Chair of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure and International Law and the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. He is also one of the Vice-Presidents of the Advisory Council of the International Nuremberg Principles Academy. He is author of the book “International Criminal Procedure,” published 2012 by OUP. He is currently conducting research on the History of the Federal General Public Prosecutor’s Office in Germany.

Bill Gates Breaks Down 6 Moments From His Life | WIRED Bill Gates reflects on six important moments from his life and career, from teaching students to program in high school to his relationships with Melinda Gates, Warren Buffett, and Paul Allen, co-founder of Microsoft, who passed away on October 15.

This video was recorded on August 31, prior to Mr. Allen’s passing, and had previously been scheduled for release this week. Bill Gates and WIRED dedicate this video to him.

Bill Gates released the following statement about his friend and colleague on October 15:

“I am heartbroken by the passing of one of my oldest and dearest friends, Paul Allen. From our early days together at Lakeside School, through our partnership in the creation of Microsoft, to some of our joint philanthropic projects over the years, Paul was a true partner and dear friend. Personal computing would not have existed without him.

“But Paul wasn’t content with starting one company. He channeled his intellect and compassion into a second act focused on improving people’s lives and strengthening communities in Seattle and around the world. He was fond of saying, ‘If it has the potential to do good, then we should do it.’ That’s the kind of person he was.

“Paul loved life and those around him, and we all cherished him in return. He deserved much more time, but his contributions to the world of technology and philanthropy will live on for generations to come. I will miss him tremendously.”
