A powerful protest song about the death of George Floyd performed by 12-year-old gospel singer Keedron Bryant and written by his mom, Johnetta, has drawn millions of views. “When I heard Mr. Floyd call out for his mom, as a black mother, that really hit me in a deep way,” Johnetta tells TODAY. “I went into prayer … and God gave these words to me.” Keedron says, “I felt sad that I have to sing that,” and sings a portion of “I Just Want to Live” live from their home.
