Ruptly is live outside the Public Safey Facility court in Minneapolis on Monday, June 8, as former police officer Derek Chauvin attends his first hearing via video link over the death of George Floyd.

The officer who knelt on Floyd’s neck was arrested and charged with third-degree murder and manslaughter on Friday, May 29. Three other officers involved in the incident have since been fired.

Floyd died in Minneapolis in May after Chauvin knelt on his neck for almost nine minutes as he was recorded saying, "I can't breathe" and "Don't kill me."
